Making a Difference

With a singular focus on animal health we are dedicated to helping veterinary business succeed and farmers and pet owners to have healthier animals. We strive to have a deep understanding of our customer’s needs by being on New Zealand farms and in veterinary practices every day. Setting us apart is our extensive sales and veterinary team who provide expertise and education that goes beyond the product.

Agriculture remains New Zealand’s number one industry and Zoetis is proud to contribute to this sector. We invest significantly in animal health R&D to develop practical, tailored animal health solutions to further improve animal health, welfare and food safety, and to benefit production. Our R&D efforts have resulted in a diverse portfolio of quality vaccines and medicines. For our livestock products global research is often supported by studies conducted locally. Recent examples being, Startect® a combination sheep drench which contains a new chemical class, and Ultravac® BVD – a vaccine for protection against Bovine Viral Diarrhoea, were studies under New Zealand farm conditions. For Companion animals innovative R&D by our global team led to the recent launch of Apoquel®, a ground breaking itch control medication for dogs.

Our commitment extends beyond animal health treatments and we are proud to work in partnership with New Zealand’s veterinary and agricultural communities. Zoetis invests in the future of the veterinary profession by investing in education, technical, and business support. We are a diamond sponsor of the New Zealand Veterinary Association and support veterinary internships at Massey University and at the Veterinary Specialist Group. We host an annual dairy vet conference and other educational meetings as well as providing many veterinary tools and resources. In addition Zoetis provides software data management systems, most notably Infovet for dairy vets . Farmers also benefit from our educational support and genetic testing to help them make informed business decisions. We also support raising awareness of pet welfare and good animal husbandry through our South Pacific Animal Welfare (SPAW) and SPCA partnerships.
